Violence in the name of reservations: Does anyone care for the word "life"

My belief that the so called reformers of India(politicians) to be mere caricatures has been strengthened by past week violence in India's northern states of Rajasthan and Delhi. So what had strengthened my belief that had been pretty obvious for these many days for others....Well I was just having a little HOPE ..that these reformers would be able to reform themselves in present day ...But alas i am wrong

Main Problem: Indian state of Rajasthan comprises of 5%Gujjars and 15% Meenas. Well never heard of these words until recent turbulent times. To explain news reports say they are most influential in vote bank politics of Rajasthan. Now it seems Meenas are given a status of Schedules tribes (definition of which was defined post independence still is applicable now) and Gujjars are denied this status(they are presently having a status of other Backward castes OBC's). Now in India, it is general that people from these scheduled castes get benefits in terms of employment, so called schemes of welfare by government. So now, Gujjars have started realising that they are lagging behind the competition of getting benefits and started the protests to pressurise the government to give them this status

Cause: So what do i think is the cause?: It happens the vote bank politics of the present chief minister of the state(even the opposition parties) has promised them to give them this status.Secondly, the definition of scheduled tribes is based on people who have been living in tribal areas or near say forest lands. But the case here is people who live in desert are considered to be descendants of forest tribes. I may be wrong here, but certainly there is a huge misconception in defining the status of people based on their caste....

Now why do i care so much?: Now i am not going into who must be given this reservation status, well here is what could have been done to avoid this problem and the killing of 26 people( mere numbers for the government) by police firing.
1) The chief minister who was walking down to attend parties In New York when the problem arised, was clearly adamant in going to the negotiation table..and when she did after 7 days, 26 lifes have just been allowed to be go down the drain. And what happened..she played the sentimental card of her daughter in law(happens to be gujjar) and asked them to with draw their struggle. The settlement reached was not even path breaking as they followed the regular path of recommeding the proble to some committee
2) Now another problem i faced was the atitude of the Member of parliament of region where the problem started. He happens to be a hope for young politicians in India: Sachin Pilot..educated, capable and a product of dynasty politics. So what did he do to solve the problem? Nothing i would say. He happens to be a rival party MP(Congress party and Chief minister happens to be of BJP). Well what he did was disappointing to me. He did not meet with the chief minister when the problem rised..but went on to meet the party' s presidents of BJP and Congress. Well i wonder who is ruling India(not that i ever doubted): The party presidents or the likes of prime ministers and chief ministers)
3) Well where was the prime minister all these days? How can the big fish behind in acting so irresponsibly when he could have solved the issue in matter of time. A great intellectual mind..but already sold ....u know who it is sold to..

Solution: It is easy for me to say that caste status should be based on economic status of people, but i would like the respective cheif minsters and the central government leave their vote bank politics and show some transparency. Its high time that party leaders do dictate the functioning of the government...Please save India before such 26 lifes are just counted as numbers in an accident that happened years ago.
